Ukrop's in Richmond, VA Officially Sold

The Ukrop's stores in the Richmond, VA area that many of us Richmonder's know and love has officially been sold to Martin's of Giant Foods and will begin changing into Martin stores in the Spring. The name of the stores will change and they will now be open for business on Sunday's, along with now selling alcoholic products. Even though the name and certain things are changing they stress that the customer service and the friendly people in the stores will not change. Customer's can expect to see the same friendly store associate's, including pharmacists. Also, the associate's will still carry your bags out for you if you wish.

I personally hate to see Ukrop's go, but I am very happy to see they are keeping the same associate's and many of the same food products with the Ukrop's brand. I look forward to learning about the deals that can be obtained using sales and coupons at the new Martin's stores set to change over and open in the Spring. I've heard that other Giant's and Martin's double coupons, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Kroger Shopping Trip 02/03/2010: Saved 121!

I am very excited about this shopping trip because we saved the most we ever have purchasing things that were on sale and with coupons. I had so many coupons to use this shopping trip and we saved so much money, we were thrilled!! We got enough to make 11 or maybe even 12 dinner meals plus sides, snacks, drinks and some dishwasher detergent! I was disappointed that sadly they didn’t have anymore Tidy Cats kitty litter in stock though. We saved so much because we bought a lot of the Mega deal items that were on sale when you buy 10 participating items, we used coupons and many coupons doubled! In case you don’t know, Kroger doubles coupons .50 cents or less!

Here’s what we got:

• 2 Capri Sun boxes of drinks ($1 off coupon)
